Who is she?
A former AOL executive who is passionate about helping to improve health and reduce the amount of sugary drinks consumed in the world.
What did she do?
She stared Hint Water in 2005 when she was unhappy with the amounts of sugar and preservatives in her children’s juices. Goldin then began to create the drink within her own home and selling the finished product from her garage. Also at this time, Goldin was diagnosed with gestational diabetes when pregnant, which also led her to develop a sugar-free alternative to other drinks. Kara Goldin soon left her job as an AOL executive to become the CEO of Hint Water and later her husband, Theo Goldin, became the COO of the company. Hint Water Inc. was launched in 2005 as a full functioning company dedicated to producing unsweetened water.
She proclaims, “Almost 1/2 of Americans have type 2 diabetes or pre-diabetes. That’s up 27% from a decade ago! And what are we drinking over the past decade? Diet sweeteners. You be the judge.” – source
Who is drinking this stuff?
Well, Facebook and Google team members to start.
“We’ve heard that the typical employee at Google who drinks Hint drinks four to five bottles of Hint per day,” says Goldin – source
