If anyone had told me 52 years ago I’d be typing this letter of concern I’d have told them they were crazy.
Well they weren’t. I’m approaching 74 years of age, graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in March of 1965, have been blessed with a very rewarding career and can honestly tell all reading this…..as an old time Chiropractor…..I’M CONCERNED!
Yes, I’m concerned about the direction of the Chiropractic profession. More importantly, I concerned

about our younger generation of Chiropractors. I’m concerned about those currently in Chiropractic School. I’m concerned about the demands being placed on those who have been in practice for years….for decades.
In July of 1967 at the urging of my father (a DC…as were his two brothers and his father) I attended what was then known as a Parker Chiropractic Research Foundation Seminar. I sat front row center, listened intently to this guru of practice management. I then went home, put the principles he taught into action….acted with love based on free will…..reacted with faith based on God’s will. Over the years, as a result of following these principles, I attained what most would consider a respectable level of success.
My wife and I, have lost count of how many seminars we, our assistants and associates have attended. In 1983 I was invited by Dr. Parker to join his hand selected group of team teachers who presented classes on practice management, building, success philosophy and personal development.
In November 1997 Dr. James W. Parker was called home. The seminars and the format in which they were presented, in my opinion, died as well. Our students, new doctors, old doctors were left to fend for themselves. Of course, there was an option to join some very expensive management group mandating a long term very legally binding contract. This contributing to the negative opinion, held by many, of practice management groups and Chiropractic coaches.
December 2015 a doctor, who also credits his success to the teachings at PCRF, reached out to me. Dr. Tim Schaub wanted to know if I’d be interested in resurrecting the seminars of old. His plan was to solicit many of the team teachers of old as well as the new and up and coming Chiropractic leaders of today. His goal….bring back seminars that were not only educational but full of pizzazz, serendipity, sharing and fun. Seminars where classrooms were filled with enormously helpful information plus the after class share sessions. Sessions where one shared idea, could change the entire direction of ones life. Attendees could keep the ball rolling….with one another as-well-as pick the brain of seminar speakers who will also be at the share sessions.
Necessity is the Mother of invention…..ChiroSushi….raw, good Chiropractic principles… was invented. No doubt those who need the the most help are the very ones who can afford it the least. Dr. Schaub, I and Dr. Schaub’s son, Tristan, took on the challenge of offering the most, the best, for the least.
The very first ChiroSushi Summit was set. An affordable seminar for students, doctors and assistants alike. Students can attend for only 74.00……doctors only 199.00 and staff only 99.00. The best, one of the easiest and least expensive places to get to was selected to hold the summit…..Las Vegas, Nevada. Contact was made with The Westgate Resort (old Las Vegas Hilton) which has been completely refurbished. A limited block of guest rooms was negotiated for only 84.00/night. By necessity attendance for this first summit will be limited.
The date is May 3-7th, 2017. Starting off Wednesday evening will be a fantastic share session monitored by a legend in the Chiropractic profession….Dr. Willie Kindred. At that share, session will be a wealth of information shared by a 91 year young Chiropractic crusader, a DC new to practice who had more than 100 new practice members his first month of practice, a medical doctor who credits Chiropractic in assisting her in her battle with cancer. This OB/GYN specialist encourages all her OB patients to include Chiropractic care in their pre-natal regime of care.
