Objective: This case report describes the chiropractic care of an infant presenting for care with breastfeeding difficulties and plagiocephaly.
Clinical Features: A 2-week-old male presented with an attached frenulum, fixed right rotation of the head and cranial plagiocephaly. Examination findings were subluxations at the C1 [ASRP (-ΘX;- ΘY)], the T4 and T11 [Posterior (-Z)], and the sacral base [ P-R (-ΘY)] along with cranial dysfunction.
Intervention and Outcome: The patient was cared for with digital “touch and hold” adjustments to the spine and cranium resulting in resolution of breastfeeding difficulties and cranial deformation.
Conclusion: The successful chiropractic care of an infant with breastfeeding difficulties and plagiocephaly was described. We support continued documentation in the care of such patients to inform research and practice.
