Guest Post by Debra A. Macko, DC
Many years ago when I opened my first practice, I knew how to practice Chiropractic, but I didn’t know what to do to be truly successful in practice.
I needed guidance and was told by a colleague to attend a seminar to get that guidance.
At my first seminar, I learned so many valuable ideas; it was both wonderful and overwhelming at the same time. So, what I learned over time was to put the three ideas that impressed me most into practice each time I attended.
Every few months I was on my way to another seminar, and with each seminar, my practice grew, and so did I, personally. I became aware of new concepts that I had never been taught in school, or at any other seminar.
I learned how to set realistic and attainable goals and develop an organized plan of action to attain those goals. I learned how to stay “in the moment”, not only with my patients, but also with my staff, my family, and in life in general. I began to listen to motivational recordings and CDs, and to consistently feed my mind with positive information. I learned sayings, affirmations, and slogans that live with me to this day. For example, “You are what you think about”.
I began to enjoy these seminars so very much because I developed friendships that have lasted years. Connections were formed with other DCs that made it easy for me to ask questions and get answers to build my practice and my life. I started noticing I personally changed, just simply by registering for a seminar.
I was so energized and excited to be attending and learning and growing.
Just as important, I learned new exam and adjusting techniques, and at each seminar, was able to be adjusted by some of the most amazing Chiropractors around the globe. I always went home with something new and exciting for my patients and my life.
I changed, grew and evolved into the successful Chiropractor I always dreamed of becoming.
I also was able to develop my public speaking at Dr. Willie Kindred’s SHARing sessions. Had it not been for these personal and professional success seminars, and the relationships I formed with the successful DCs there, I don’t know how I would have ever accomplished what I have. I needed guidance and I got it. I learned how to balance practice and raising two children as a single parent.

While there, I had personal consultations with doctors who advised me using wisdom they had gained from their experience, and they shared their successful strategies with me.
Today I am opening yet another practice of my dreams and am very excited to begin the journey once again in a new town and state.
Now I am so glad to be able to endorse the team of ChiroSushiSummit.com, as I know they will help thousands of Chiropractors, their families and practice members around the world, as I have been helped. My wish is that each DC will be successful, and have the practice of their dreams. I know this is not only possible but enjoyable, by way of ChiroSushiSummit.com.
